The Collington Dog Park

Not only does Collington make the perfect place for seniors to retire, but it makes the perfect place for pups to retire too! Long walks and relaxing in the sun are much more fun when you have your furry companion by your side. Collington understands pets are family members too, and they allow their residents to enjoy retirement with them.

In addition to the scenic 125-acre campus and extensive walking trails, the dogs of Collington are lucky enough to enjoy a fenced in dog park where they can run freely and socialize with their pals.

The park is enjoyed by pets and residents alike, allowing both parties to spend time with friends in the fresh air. The park offers the perfect amount of space for dogs to play fetch, or go for a run, while their owners sit back and relax on the many benches or step into the shade under the gazebo. Even residents who don’t have a pet of their own find ways to enjoy all that the Collington Dog Park has to offer, “one of our neighbors has a whippet, who my wife and I took to the dog park one day. After doing some sniffing, she decided to cut loose, running at breakneck speed around the perimeter.  I almost expected a sonic boom!” exclaimed resident Dick Garrison.

“The dog park is great because it is big enough for several dogs to get plenty of exercise,” explained resident, Peter Gray, “all the dogs seem very happy when they’re there.”

With summer at our fingertips, more and more residents find themselves making use of the park, taking advantage of the abundant sunshine and warmth. Residents bring tennis balls, frisbees, bones and plenty of water for their dogs to share with all of their canine friends.
