Collington Foundation: Major Funds

Residents gather on the patio

Fellowship Fund

The purpose of the fund is to support residents who, through no fault of their own, have outlived their resources. Requests for financial assistance with monthly fees are held in strict confidence; no other residents are aware of who received support. The Fellowship Fund was made possible through an initial generous gift of $250,000 from the Episcopal Diocese in 1984 to create an endowment for the fund. Additional donations help to grow the collection of funds available for resident support.

Scholarship Fund

Created in 2001, the scholarship fund provides tuition assistance to employees for continuing education. The purpose of the fund is to enhance job performance, improve job satisfaction, and increase Collington staff retention. A Scholarship Committee reviews scholarship applications three times a year and makes awards based on employee needs and available funds.

Arts and Culture Fund

Established in 2013, the purpose of the Arts and Culture Fund is to support a broad range of artistic and cultural endeavors for Collington residents. “Arts” includes support for fine and performing arts (painting, sculpture, music, poetry, theater and dance). “Culture” includes support for both on and off campus engagement activities.

Annual Fund

Established in 2016, the Annual Fund is unrestricted and allows the Foundation the flexibility to address emerging needs and opportunities. The Fund supports endeavors that fall outside of the other fund categories. Grants awarded from this Fund support a multitude of:

  • Resident-led projects on campus and in the wider community
  • Augment operational or capital needs
  • Enhance our physical environment
  • Improve or add amenities to the Collington community
